Mental health support

If you need urgent support, the Samaritans are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They are a confidential listening service that will be more than happy to be there for you. You can call them for free on 116 123 and it will not show on your bill.

Or, if you’re in crisis right now and need support, please request an ambulance by calling the emergency services on 999.

If you need non-urgent information about mental health support and services that may be available to you, please call our Infoline on 0300 123 3393 or email [email protected].

We have a Legal Line that is available to give you legal information and general advice on mental health related law.

Each confidential line is set up to give easy to understand information over the phone and via email. Both our friendly teams are available 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, offering information on available help and support in your own area.

We also offer lots of useful mental health information.

Unfortunately we do not currently work in Scotland or Northern Ireland. If you’re from either of these areas and are looking for mental health information, advice or support, you may find the following organisations helpful:

Giving feedback

We’re really sorry you wish to make a complaint. We hope to fix this asap and come up with solutions to make sure this doesn’t happen again. You can read our complaints policy here. If you would like any information about our complaints policy, please email [email protected]

  • To make a complaint about Mind, please complete our online form or call our supporter relations team on 0208 215 2243.
  • To make your complaint about a Mind shop, please complete our online form or call our supporter relations team on 0208 215 2243.

You can find their contact details on our local Minds pages.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected]

We love to hear the good stuff or any other feedback you may want to give! Please email us at [email protected] with your feedback and we will get back to you about it as soon as we can!

Local Minds and Mind shops

Local Minds are independent charities that are affiliated to National Mind through a membership agreement, but have responsibility for their own governance, management and for their own funding. They understand the needs of their community and they tailor their services to match. Services include talking therapies, peer support, advocacy, crisis care, employment and housing support.

If you would like to support your Local Mind, please use our interactive map to find out where they are and their contact details. Once you have found them, please speak to them directly about your kind support.

If you would like more information about how Mind and local Minds work together, please visit our local Minds page.

You can find our shops in more than 150 communities around England and Wales, selling high quality items mostly donated by you. You can find your local Mind shop here.

Fundraising

Your amazing support allows us to carry out our work and without you, it wouldn’t be possible. We are very transparent with our supporters and so you can easily find out exactly what we do and how we spend our money.

Because of this support, we were able to reach out to more people than ever in the last year to help achieve our vision of not giving up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both the support and respect they deserve. You can see our impact here.

We aim to always be open and clear about how we raise and spend our money. Please email us at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns and we will answer them.

We couldn't continue our work without your help so it’s important we are there to help your fundraising! There are lots of different ways you can support us through fundraising activities.

From marathons to music events, you can find inspiration on the fundraising area of our site. You can register your event by selecting an activity.

For full information on all the different ways you can donate or fundraise, please visit the donation area of our website.

Along with the events listed on our website, we will also support you with a whole host of other events taking place in the UK and overseas. Or you can do your own thing.

We would love to hear about your event! To register with us there’s just a simple form to fill in. After you’ve registered we’ll send you a Welcome Pack in the post that will be with you in about 10 working days. This will contain lots of information about raising money for Mind, tips/advice and how to get your hands on some materials! You can also order your free Mind cotton t-shirt or vest via the form or over the phone with our Supporter Relations team on 0208 215 2243.

We understand that fundraising is a lot of responsibility and can be a huge task so naturally, you may have lots of questions! That is why we have a dedicated fundraisers FAQ page which has lots of useful information that you can access at any time.

Everyone who supports you can gift aid their donation by completing a sponsorship form. You will have a sponsorship form in your welcome pack.

We want to make sure you’re supported with your fundraising so we have created a helpful resource centre with useful tips and information.

We also have a list of ways you can boost your fundraising.

Materials and packs can take about 10 working days to reach you. If it has been longer than this, we are really sorry about that. We sometimes have delays due to slightly more busy periods throughout the year with unprecedented demand. Regardless, we aim to work through it and get you what you need. Please call us on 0208 215 2243 or email [email protected] to help you.

We have provided some useful tips on creating an online fundraising page here. If you need technical support with your JustGiving or Virgin Money giving account, please contact them directly.

It’s fantastic you’re raising awareness of mental health, but unfortunately we won’t be able to give you our logo. We have a policy on where our branding assets (like logos and fonts) can be used, as using our logo implies we have worked closely on a project from the beginning and been involved in all its different aspects. We hope you can understand.

There are other ways you can raise awareness of mental health problems and the work we do.

We put out a lot of videos, animations and information on Twitter and Facebook and we’d love it if you could share them. It’s a great way to spread awareness about mental health problems and the support that’s available.

It might also be worth contacting your Local Mind to ask how you could best promote and support the work they do. They are likely to be running a range of different support services.

You can find your local Mind here.

Please email us at [email protected] with some more information about your fundraising and we will see if we can help or push you in the right direction.

If you’re holding a fundraising event, thank you very much! We really appreciate all the support we can. Not only does it raise awareness but also helps us get the help to those who truly need it.

You can register your event and request your fundraising pack by completing our online form.

If you’re holding an awareness event or want more general leaflets about Mind and mental health, please contact our communication’s team by emailing [email protected] with your address and a bit about your event and we’ll arrange for some freebies to be sent to you.

All information about telephone fundraising at Mind can be found on our dedicated telephone fundraising page.

Working with us

You might like to have a look at the media volunteers section of the Mind website, which gives you full details on how to use your story to help Mind spread the word about the issues around mental health.

Media volunteers are people who are happy to share their story about having mental health problems with the media. You'll find all the background info on what being a Mind media volunteer entails on the above web page, as well as the media opportunities section, where you can see the latest opportunities.

You could also send in a proposal to Blog for Mind that will be published on our website and be shared on our social media channels. Or – if you’re up for a bit of filming – you can send us a vlog of your mental health story.

If you're unsure your topic is suitable, please do email us at [email protected]

Thank you for holding an event in aid of Mind or to raise mental health awareness. While we would love to attend all these events, unfortunately, we just don’t have the capacity to attend or send speakers to events.

We can send you some free leaflets and posters though if you’d like. If you’d like some, please email our Communications team at [email protected] with your address and a bit about your event and we’ll arrange for some freebies to be sent to you.

Thank you so much for raising awareness of mental health.

Unfortunately, we are not able to endorse any materials that aren’t produced by us or in partnership with us. We need to be sure that everything that carries our logo reflects our values, and we simply don’t have the time to read or watch everything that is sent to us.

For the same reason, we can’t promote events or projects either.

You’re very welcome to post details on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and tag the Mind page for our followers to see.

I hope you understand our position. We can send you some free leaflets and posters though. If you’d like some, please email our Communications team at [email protected] with your address and a bit about your event or project and we’ll arrange for some freebies to be sent to you.

Thanks for your email. As you can imagine, we get a lot of requests to give feedback and help on projects. I’m afraid we don’t have the capacity to be able to do this, as we’re working hard on our own campaigns and mission.

However, you’re very welcome to post details on Facebook and tag the Mind page for our followers to see. You could also try and get in touch with your Local Mind and see if they could help at all. Search for your nearest local Mind.

It’s fantastic that you want to get involved with mental health wellbeing in your workplace and there are many ways Mind can support you. From training and consultancy, to our Workplace Wellbeing Index, we should have all the information you need on our workplace pages. Read more about our workplace wellbeing index here.

We have many courses you can choose from, whether you’re an individual, from an organisation or from the emergency services. To help in your search for a training course, please head to our training and consultancy page to find out what we have available.

Thank you! There are many ways you can partner with us, all the information you need can be found on our corporate partnerships page. Once you know how you would like to work together, please complete the Contact us forms on these pages so the best team can get in touch with you.

If you want to know more about our previous and current corporate partnerships, you can find this information on our current partners and donors’ page.

Working for us

It’s fantastic you’re interested in working for Mind. All current opportunities for Mind, Mind Cymru and Mind shops can be found on our vacancies page, where you can see if there are any suitable roles for you.

You may also want to contact one of our many independent but affiliated Local Mind’s directly to see if they have any roles available too.

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering your time – it’s an amazing thing to do!

At Mind we advertise office-based volunteering opportunities in the Jobs section of our website. Please do check regularly to see if there’s anything that interests you.

We also have lots of other ways you can volunteer for us

Alternatively, we have more than 140 Local Minds across England and Wales that deliver mental health services, many of whom would be really grateful for volunteer support. Find your Local Mind.
