for better mental health

Side by Side

Side by Side is a supportive online community where you can feel at home talking about your mental health and connect with others who understand what you are going through.

We all know what it's like to struggle sometimes, but now there's a safe place to listen, share and be heard. Whether you're feeling good right now, or having a hard time, it's a safe place to share experiences and listen to others. The community is available to all, 24/7 and it is moderated daily from 8.30am to midnight.

Elefriends is closing

We’ve created Side By Side to replace our Elefriends community, which we’ve managed since 2013. Side by Side offers the technology to meet the needs of the growing community and will help us to support more people and in the best way we can.

Elefriends will continue running over the next two weeks to give members of Elefriends time to set up new accounts on Side by Side and chance to reconnect with the friends they have made within the community. Elefriends will then close on Wednesday 10 June 2020.

We understand how important the support provided through the community is, particularly now with everything that's going on in the world and we want to reassure you that you won't ever be without a place to reach out for support. We also have our advice and support hub on how to manage your mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.

What is Side by Side for?

Side by Side is grounded in the values of peer support. It’s a welcoming place for people to make connections, learn from each other and feel inspired to take positive steps on their mental health journeys.

Side by Side is not a crisis service and we ask all members to use the community safely and reach out for other forms of support if they think they might need urgent help. Check out our advice and support hub on how to manage your mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.
