Working for Mind

We’re Mind, the mental health charity. We won’t give up until everyone with a mental health problem gets support and respect. Want to help us?

Our national offices are based in London and Cardiff. Some of our staff work from home too. We had, on average, 330 members of staff working for us in 2018.

Why choose Mind?

We have a dedicated, passionate, friendly workforce. There are lots of reasons people choose to work for Mind.

Rhiannon joined us in 2015 as Policy and Campaigns Officer. Before joining Mind, she struggled in workplaces that didn’t know how to support people with anxiety and depression.

Rhiannon’s experience motivated her to join us.

The benefits of working in an environment where people talk openly about mental health really can't be overstated.

The benefits of working for Mind

We understand the benefits of a mentally healthy workplace and offer all staff working for Mind nationally flexible working hours and 25 days' annual leave, up to 8 paid public holidays and 5 Mind Days (a paid day of leave after 5 of each year’s bank holidays).

Other benefits include:

  • a childcare voucher scheme and extended maternity leave
  • a competitive pension and
  • an interest free season ticket loan.

Staff wellbeing is a high priority. We encourage staff to look after their mental health with activities including discounted exercise opportunities, gardening and walking groups. There are lots of ways to join in and have fun outside of work, too.

LGBTIQ+ Staff Network

Mind staff at Pride in London 2019 with a banner that reads "we won't give up until all LGBTIQ+ people experiencing a mental health problem get support and respect."

Our LGBTIQ+ Staff Network promotes a positive work environment for all lesbian, bi, gay, trans, queer and intersex staff and volunteers, aiming to ensure they feel connected and valued.

In the last year we have organised events for staff around LGBT History Month, attended Pride in London and Pride Cymru along with staff from local Minds and our Mind Shops, and contributed to the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.
