What kind of support will I get?
When we receive your online registration, we will send you a full support pack with loads of tips and advice on fundraising and training.
In the run up to your event, we will also send you useful enewsletters about what to expect, along with training and fundraising advice.
An experienced team member is always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
What help do I get in raising the sponsorship?
Lots! In your welcome pack, you'll find loads of ideas on how to raise money from approaching your local press, to social media, and fundraising activities such as collections and pub quiz'.
A top tip from past Mind supporters is to set up your own online fundraising page on .
It's so quick and easy to set up. All you need to do is simply email your Virgin fundraising page to all your relatives, friends, colleagues and potential sponsors, and they can support you directly online.
Funds are automatically and regularly transferred to Mind on a regular basis, which makes it easy for you and your supporters.
I'm taking part in a run or challenge event. When should I start training?
As soon as you can! The more you train, the more you'll enjoy the day. Try and do some form of exercise and about about two or three times a week, and find a schedule that suits you. Also take a look at the training advice in your support pack.
I have an injury and now I can't take part in the event I signed up for. What should I do?
Call us straight away, or send us an email! We realise it's very disappointing to have to pull out, but we may be able to reallocate your place to someone else who wants to take part.
If you still fancy supporting us at some point when your injury has healed, we can usually transfer you onto another similar event, if you tell us sooner rather than later.
I'm not usually a very sporty person. Are your events still suitable for me?
Yes! People of all different levels of fitness take part in events for Mind, and all ages and abilities take part in the day.
Why not use the challenge to improve your fitness levels, while also giving your own mental health a boost?
Arguably, the best reason for being physically active is that it can be fun, and a way of getting away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Regular physical activity can lift your mood, help you deal with negative emotions (such as anger) and bring you a general sense of mental wellbeing. It can help you sleep better, reduce tension levels, feelings of stress or fatigue, and give you more energy.
Taking part in an event for Mind is a great way to look after your physical and mental wellbeing, and it will also help a very important cause.

Once I've signed up to an event, when will I hear from you next?
Shortly after we receive your registration through the website, we will send you out a welcome pack which should be with you within 10 days.
This is full of training support and fundraising ideas, with sponsorship forms included. It will also include your personalised paying in slips which you should use to pay in any sponsorship money.
The Events Team will be on hand should you need any extra help with fundraising or if you have any further questions, and we'll also send you a series of newsletters with plenty of advice in the build up, so do make sure you read them so you're kept informed about ways that you're helping Mind along with important event information.
About 2 weeks before your event, you will receive your final race pack. This will include further details about the race itself and last minute tips and support.
Your Mind running vest or T-shirt will also be included in this pack to wear on the day, and you can also request cheering materials for your supporters here.
When will I get my official running number and race day information?
Although this varies from event to event, most organisers will send your running number and raceday magazine 2-3 weeks prior to the event.
If you have not received this a week before, please do give us a call and we'll try and contact the organisers for you.
I have a interesting story tell about why I'm supporting Mind. What can I do?
People support Mind for many different reasons. If you have an interesting story or some fundraising or training tips to share we'd love to hear from you.
Likewise, if you have any photos or news, please post them straight on to our facebook page, to help inspire other Mind supporters.
What shall I do about travel and accommodation for the event?
If you're not local to the event, we advise all of our supporters to book their accommodation and travel as soon as possible.
For the more popular events such as the Great North Run and the London Marathon, rooms and travel options fill up really fast.
I've just taken part in an event for you and I want to do another one - what shall I do?
We would love to welcome your support again. Many of our previous runners get the 'running bug' and sign up for another straight after they've finished their last race!
People tend to start with one of the shorter distances and work their way up, from 5Ks, to 10Ks, half and full marathons! Some people want to try something different and look at the swimming events, treks and cycles that we have on offer.

What other events could I do?
Along with the events listed on our website, we will also support you for a whole host of other events taking place in the UK and overseas, or with your own choice of fundraiser.
It's what we call "Do Your Own Thing", so just register through the website, or get in touch to find out more.
How can I pay in my sponsorship money?
On signing up, you will be sent personalised paying in slips. All you need to do is take your slips to any NatWest branch with any cash or cheques made payable to "Mind" and it will come straight to us!
If you receive any CAF vouchers or PAYE cheques, please send them to us, not forgetting to put your name and event on the back as the bank won't accept them. Also, please send in your completed sponsorship forms back so that we can claim back Gift Aid.
Will Mind be there at the event itself?
Mind often has a support squad at the event to cheer you on when you most need it, plus (for the larger events) we have a Mind marquee - with free drinks and snacks after the event. We'll let you know if we'll be there in forthcoming emails.
