Mind responds to news of Sally Brampton's death
Mind's chief executive Paul Farmer has made the following statement in response to the sad news of Sally Brampton's death:
"We are deeply saddened to hear news of Sally’s death and our thoughts go out to her family and friends at this difficult time. Sally was passionate about speaking out about mental health and worked with Mind over many years as a judge for our annual Media Awards. She brought invaluable insight to the judging panel from her extensive experience both as a journalist and from her own experiences of depression. Her fearlessness in breaking down the taboo around mental health, as well as her brilliance as a journalist, will be sorely missed.”
We would urge anyone who is experiencing the pain and distress of suicidal feelings to try and speak to someone, whether friend, family, their doctor or a charity such as Mind (0300 123 3393) or Samaritans (116 123).
