This National Stress Awareness Day (2nd November), GO Outdoors has once again joined forces with Mind for its Hats On For Mind campaign, launching a new limited edition range of colourful, bespoke hats and coordinating flasks.
Fronted by outdoor enthusiasts Julia Bradbury, Helen Skelton, David Seaman, Sean Fletcher and Gethin Jones, each celebrity has designed their own hat and co-ordinating flask. Available online and in over 200 nationwide stores, 100% of the profits will go to the charity, to help raise vital funds for mental health support.
GO Outdoors and Mind are encouraging the nation to head outdoors and get their Hats On For Mind this winter, acknowledging and raising awareness of the benefits the great outdoors can have on our mental wellbeing and to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety.
The collection is on sale from 2nd November, at some of the UK’s biggest outdoor retailers: GO Outdoors, Blacks, Millets, and Fishing Republic, and launches through a series of beautiful new photos captured by renowned photographer David Venni.
Julia Bradbury, presenter, campaigner, and nature advocate says on her involvement:
“We have all faced some kind of difficulty or challenges in life, so I’m delighted to be part of Hats On For Mind highlighting the positive impact the outdoors has on our wellbeing. Sometimes the easiest way to open up to a friend or loved one about how you feel is by taking a long walk and simply talking side by side. This tip has helped me so many times, in particular over the past year, and I hope is something that can help others too. The benefits to getting out there really are endless.”
Lee Bagnall, CEO of GO Outdoors says:
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Mind again this year for the Hats On For Mind campaign, and to be working alongside this group of fantastic, passionate celebrity ambassadors and incredible volunteers.
“We want to spread the message far and wide about how time spent outdoors can benefit mental health, whether that be getting active by cycling, hiking, running, or by simply taking the time to stroll, relax and enjoy nature. We aim to inspire everyone to get outside in their hats and flasks this winter, whilst raising even more vital funds for such an important cause.”
GO Outdoors and partner retailers are aiming to beat last year’s fundraising total of over £233,000.
Jack Matthews, Associate Director of Fundraising at Mind says:
“We are incredibly grateful to GO Outdoors for supporting Mind. The Hats On For Mind campaign is supporting us with our mission to be there for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.
“We are in a difficult time, with many of us feeling the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. We can expect to see a rise in mental health problems and increased demand for mental health services so the support we’re receiving from GO Outdoors is crucial. The money raised through this partnership will help us to keep our vital services running, including the Mind Infoline, legal line, and our online peer support community Side by Side, so that we can be there for the people who need us.”
Adult hats and flasks are priced at £10 each and two children’s options are £8, with 100% of the profits going to Mind. The collection offers the perfect stocking fillers for the outdoor enthusiast and the gift of giving back this Christmas.
