What happens when I join the Facebook group?

By joining the Facebook group, you’ll become a part of an incredible community of like-minded challengers who will be there to celebrate your achievements and cheer you on. Our friendly team will also be on hand to support you, offer tips and answer any questions.

How much do I have to fundraise?

Your fundraising page will automatically set a £100 target. However, there’s no minimum target for this challenge, so you can choose to increase, decrease or keep it as it is.

Why should I get involved?

Now more than ever, people struggling from mental health problems need our support. In the UK, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem this year. We need your help so we can be there – on the other end of the phone, in local communities and campaigning hard.

By taking part and fundraising through this challenge, we can make sure that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone. Every mile you take and every pound you raise will make a real difference.

Once you've registered, a fundraising page (Facebook or JustGiving depending on your preference) will be created for you and you can begin sharing it with your friends and family.

We'll also send you a t-shirt and mile tracker to keep on top of your daily achievements.

You can also register without joining our Facebook group.

There's no registration fee to sign up for 30 miles in April.

Yes, of course! Register by filling in this form and setting up your JustGiving page instead.

There's no need for you to prove to us that you completed your 30 miles in April challenge but we'd love to hear your updates and how you're getting on by posting on our Facebook group

You can use the paper mile tracker from your welcome pack to record your daily distance. Then, take a photo to share on the Facebook group once you complete your challenge.

You can take part in 30 miles in April at any age.

However, you must be over 18 to set up a fundraising page. Please send us an email at [email protected] for more information.

Absolutely! Whether you want to inspire your family to create positive new habits, or encourage some friendly competition amongst your friends. 30 miles in April could be even more fun when you’ve got teammates to keep you motivated.

JustGiving team pages let you and your friends to join your individual fundraising pages together to contribute to an overall total. They’re great if you want to raise money separately while still contributing to a larger team goal!

If you’re unable to complete 30 miles in April, that’s ok. You can extend your challenge into May if you like, or finish having completed less than 30 miles. Every mile is an achievement! And remember, raising money and awareness for mental health is the most important thing.

Being active during the 30 miles in April challenge can be a great way to support your mental health. It’s important to remember we all have different preferences, tolerances, and fitness levels.

Make sure you're letting yourself recover by resting your body and mind. You can build in rest days where you take a break, and/or you could add low intensity days into your plans.

The key here is to try to be mindful of what you’re doing and strike a healthy balance.

Questions about fundraising

By filling in the registration form (it takes less than 2 mins), your fundraising page will be created. Share your page with your family, friends, and colleagues, and ask them to support your efforts and donate to the cause.

We'll be on hand in the Facebook group to offer helpful tips and support with your fundraising efforts throughout the challenge.

Yes, of course. You can register by filling in the this form and creating your JustGiving fundraising page instead.

Yes. The easiest way is to collect their donation offline and donate it your fundraiser yourself. Or by directing them to your JustGiving page if you choose to fundraise off Facebook.

If someone wants to donate to your 30 miles in April fundraiser but would prefer to donate offline, the best thing is to collect their donation offline and pay it into your personal account. You can then donate it directly to your fundraiser yourself.

No, there’s no minimum fundraising amount. The default amount on each fundraiser is set at £100 but you can edit this amount. All that we ask is that you raise as much as you can, and every pound you raise will go towards providing lifesaving information and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. As a thank you we’ll send you a 30 miles in April medal when you raise £100 or more.

If you type 'fundraiser' in Facebook search bar, it should come up. If you still can't find it, please ask our admins in the Facebook group or email us at [email protected]

To amend your page, please follow these steps:

If you’re using a phone/tablet:

  • Open up your fundraiser
  • Press the pencil button
  • Press edit fundraiser

If you’re using a laptop/desktop

  • Open up your fundraiser
  • Press the three dots
  • Press edit fundraiser

Whether you fundraise using JustGiving or Facebook, there is a small processing fee which we have no control over. Find out more about about these fees below.

Of course! If you wish to fundraise for your local Mind, please contact them directly and they'll let you know what fundraising events they’re currently running.

If you choose to take part in 30 miles in April, all fundraising for this challenge will go to national Mind.

30 miles in April is a fundraising challenge. We would ask that you please try and fundraise if taking part in the challenge.

We recognise that times are tough for some of us right now and not everyone will be in a position to donate as much or as often. We’ll be on hand to offer support and tips throughout the challenge.

Every penny you raise is hugely appreciated and will go towards offering life-changing support for those living with a mental health problem. If you’d like to make a one-time donation to Mind instead of fundraise you can do so on this JustGiving page

If you have fundraised through a Facebook or JustGiving fundraising page, then there is nothing you need to do. All donations will automatically come directly to Mind. If you have offline fundraising to pay in we would suggest paying this in to your own account and then onto your fundraising page yourself. However, if you would prefer to send us your offline fundraising a different way please email [email protected] and we’ll be happy to help with this.

Congratulations on raising such an impressive amount! We'll be sending 30 miles in April medals on a weekly basis from the end of February. Please expect to receive your medal within 14 days of raising £100. If you haven’t received this after 14 days, please contact [email protected]
