Positive Choices has trained 10 new SafeTALK trainers to add to the network of those already delivering the SafeTALK workshops throughout Wales and England.

The trainers came from a huge variety of backgrounds, including the NHS Local Mind Associations, Barnardos and Carmarthenshire Youth and Children’s Association. The new trainers’ networks and experience will help the project gain greater access to a variety of at-risk groups.

Anthony Price, one of the new SafeTALK trainers said: "The training programme was very well organised and run by a good trainer. It  provides trainers with valuable knowledge and skills to equip them for further training."

Suicide Alertness for Everyone (SafeTALK) is a programme that prepares anyone over the age of 15 to recognise people who have thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.

If you are interested in becoming a SafeTALK trainer anotherSafeTALK Training for Trainers is being held in November 2013.

Mae Dewisiadau Cadarnhaol wedi hyfforddi 10 hyfforddwr SafeTALK i ychwanegu at y rhwydwaith o hyfforddwyr sydd eisoes yn cynnal gweithdai SafeTALK ledled Cymru a Lloegr.

Daeth yr hyfforddwyr o gefndiroedd amrywiol iawn, gan gynnwys Cymdeithasau Mind Lleol y GIG, Barnardos a Chymdeithas Ieuenctid a Phlant Sir Gaerfyrddin. Bydd rhwydweithiau a phrofiad yr hyfforddwyr newydd yn helpu'r prosiect i gyrraedd amrywiaeth o grwpiau sydd mewn perygl.

Dywedodd Anthony Price, un o'r hyfforddwyr SafeTALK newydd: "Roedd y rhaglen hyfforddi wedi'i threfnu'n dda ac yn cael ei chynnal gan hyfforddwr da. Mae'n rhoi gwybodaeth a sguiliau gwerthfawr i hyfforddwyr i'w paratoi ar gyfer hyfforddiant pellach."

Rhaglen yw Suicide Alertness for Everyone (SafeTALK) sy'n paratoi unrhyw un dros 15 oed i nodi pobl sy'n ystyried cyflawni hunanladdiad a'u cyfeirio at adnoddau cymorth cyntaf hunanladdiad.

Os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn bod yn hyfforddwr SafeTALK, cynhelir sesiwn hyfforddi 'SafeTALK Training for Trainers' arall ym mis Tachwedd 2013.
