About the event
It’s true: conversations around mental health are finally starting to change. But there’s still a long way to go.
That’s why Mind are challenging you to complete 50km on Strava this February. Because in 2023, suicide is still the leading cause of death for men under 50.
By taking on the challenge, you’ll join #TeamMind and raise money that will make a huge difference. To get people the support they need, when they need it.

What will I need to do?
Joining the challenge is simple. And from the moment you sign up, to that last 1km, we’ll support you every step of the way.

Mind is challenging you to complete 50km on Strava this February and fundraise to support the fight for mental health.
You can run, walk or track wheelchair activity to complete your distance. Take on 50km your own way at your own pace. Find out more on our Strava page.
Getting involved is simple - head to our Strava page to sign up. You’ll have to have a Strava account to join the challenge.
The challenge runs from the 1 February until the 28 February. Make sure you’ve completed your distance in that time to qualify for our exclusive digital badge.
Strava will be able to track your walking, running, or wheelchair activity for this challenge.
Taking part in Mind’s 50km for Mental Health is only available through the Strava app.

We understand completing 50km in a month may feel challenging. Please prioritise your health and wellbeing while taking part in this challenge and do not feel any undue pressure to complete this challenge if its having an impact on you.

Fundraising
There’s no minimum fundraising amount for this challenge. Instead, we ask that you raise as much as you can to support anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
To help show how much we appreciate every donation, when you raise £50 you’ll get a free Mind running vest. Reach £100 for free entry into a prize draw to win a pair of Merrell trainers.

Taking part in a team is a great way to get involved! To ensure we can contact each of you for your fundraising rewards please follow these instructions when setting up team pages. You should also all join the challenge on Strava separately so all your distances track.
Please note we do not recommend sharing a single fundraising page for your entire team as we will not be able to monitor who qualifies for fundraising rewards.

Absolutely. If you’d rather make a one off donation to Mind you can do that via JustGiving. Every donation is much appreciated.
You can still get your running vest by making a one-off donation of £50+. If you’ve donated this way, you’ll just need to email Mind on [email protected] to qualify. Please include proof of donation (e.g. screenshot of receipt email from Mind) and your postal address.
If you would prefer to fundraise offline, then please feel free to do so. To pay in the money you raise offline, we would recommend paying that in on Giving Checkout. For other ways to pay in offline donations, please see our website.

Yes! Once you complete your 50km you’ll be rewarded with your own digital badge to add to your trophy collection on Strava.
When you raise £50 on JustGiving we will get in touch with you via email to let you know how to claim your free Mind running vest.
We try to get in touch with you as soon as possible but please allow up to 7 days after you raised £50 for us to get in touch. If you still haven’t had your t-shirt email after 7 days, please drop us an email on [email protected].
The prize draw for the Merrell trail running shoes will be pulled on the 8 March and winners will be contacted on the same day via email using the email address associated with your JustGiving page. Winners for each prize will be selected at random from completed, eligible entries.
Only UK residents aged 18 or older who are taking part in the challenge are eligible to receive the running vest and entry into the prize draw.
- Sign up and raise £50+ between 18 January 2023 and 6 March 2023 to be eligible to receive a Mind running vest.
- Sign up and raise £100+ between 18 January 2023 and 6 March 2023 to be eligible for entry into the prize draw. There are 10 pairs of Merrell MTL Longsky 2 Trail Running shoes to be won.
Rewards are subject to availability, running shoe colour and style may vary.
You must be taking part in the challenge to be eligible to receive the running vest and entry into the prize draw. However you don’t need to have completed the full distance to qualify, so long as you meet the fundraising amounts for each incentive.
We are giving everyone who raises £50 or more in this challenge a free running vest to say thank you for their fundraising, and also for raising awareness of Mind and mental health.
Merrell have a corporate partnership with Mind and have kindly donated us 10 pairs of Merrell MTL Longsky 2 trail running shoes to offer as prizes for taking part in this challenge.
