Christmas can be a joyful time of year. A chance to see family and friends, exchange gifts and have some fun.
But it can also be a challenging time of year, and can be even more difficult to cope with for those of us with mental health problems.

Information and tips for coping
- Feelings of loneliness can feel stronger at Christmas and New Year. If this is something you’re struggling with, you might find our tips on coping with loneliness helpful.
- Christmas time can also bring up a whole lot of practical and emotional issues which can be really stressful. We have some info on coping under pressure which may help.

- Remember, you’re not alone. We’ve had some great blogs written for us on how difficult this time of year is, and how other people cope. Read them here.
Places to turn
- The Mind Infoline can give you information on diagnosis, treatments and types of support. The Infoline is closed on weekends and bank holidays but will be open as normal on other days. Call, and if no-one’s there, you can text or email and they’ll get back to you.
- If things have got so bad you’re feeling unsafe, the quickest way to get help is calling 999 or going to A&E. Our information on crisis services explains on what might happen if you do, and on other types of crisis support which might be available.
Remember, take one minute, hour or day at a time.
