Coping with scary thoughts

Having thoughts that frighten or alarm you?  Like thoughts about suicide, harming yourself, harming others, or hearing voices. These are quite common experiences. 

If you think you're going to act on these thoughts, it's an emergency.

Otherwise, there are some ways to cope with these thoughts day to day. Until they go away.

Describe your thoughts

It might help to write down how you're feeling. This is a safe space where you can:

  • Reflect
  • Try to clear your mind
  • Try to to make sense of what you're experiencing
