The Mind Walk terms and conditions
The rules set out below are applicable to the Mind Walk 2025 event. By registering for the event, you are agreeing to comply with them. Before completing your registration, we ask that you carefully read this section and are happy to proceed. You and any other persons registered to attend the Mind Walk will be bound by them. Mind reserves the right to update or amend these to reflect any necessary changes.
The Mind Walk is an event organised by Mind, a registered charity in England (no. 219830 and a registered company (no. 424348) in England and Wales. Registered address - 2 Redman Place, London, E20 1JQ.
1. Participant Registration
1.1 Each participant over the age of 18 is required to pay the entry fee of £15 per event which goes towards the cost of staging the event. Anyone attending between the age of 16-18 without a parent or guardian is also required to pay the entry fee.
1.2 Your event place is not confirmed until payment has been processed and you have received a confirmation email acknowledging your place has been allocated.
1.3 Each registrant is eligible to bring any children aged between 12-18 for free and similarly any infants in push chairs, provided their details are added at point of online registration. It’s the responsibility of the parent/ guardian to ensure any children attending are suitably prepared to complete the 10km route.
1.4 Participants registering and paying the entry fee must be over the age of 18. Any participants aged between 16-18 must get permission in the form of a parental/guardian approval form to attend on their own. This is to be confirmed before purchasing any tickets on the registration website.
1.5 We will collect and store emergency contact details for all participants prior to the event. This data will be used only for emergencies on the day of the event.
1.6 Event entry will close when either; A) the maximum number of participants is reached. B) The closing date listed on the website for registration passes. Whichever occurs first.
1.7 Each participant paying an entry fee will receive a free t-shirt via second class post after receiving their first donation. Stocks are limited, and in the event that your requested size is not available we will do our best to provide a close alternative. We may be able to exchange sizes at the event, if stocks are available.
2. Accessibility, Health & Safety
2.1 The Mind Walk is a walking event only. The route has been risk assessed for walking only. If you choose to take part by other means, then you will no longer be considered a participant of the event. This removes any responsibility and risk from Mind, and you will continue at your own risk.
2.2 Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically and mentally fit enough to take part in the event. Anyone unsure must seek medical advice from a GP before registering or attending the event.
2.3 Mind reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone we deem unfit to take part. If for any reason you are asked to withdraw during the event due to concerns around your ability to complete the walk and you refuse, you will no longer be considered a participant of the event. Mind will no longer bear any responsibility beyond the point you are asked to withdraw from the event even if you choose to continue.
2.4 We aim to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. The Mind Walk encourages people affected by mental health conditions to take part and we aim to provide at least one wheelchair/pushchair accessible route and trained Mental Health First Aider’s along the route.
2.5 Participants are responsible for wearing suitable attire and footwear when attending the Mind Walk. Taking into account the terrain, weather and any other factors on the day.
2.6 All participants must enter emergency contact details when asked at point of registration. All participants must write emergency contact details on their event label which is to be worn on the day of the event. These details include emergency contact’s name & contact number.
2.7 Mind aims to minimise the risk of injury or illness to all participants taking part in the Mind Walk. By taking part, you understand that there is however, the possibility of conditions outside of our control that could lead to unforeseen risks.
3. Fundraising & Donations
3.1 By taking part you are agreeing to participate in fundraising for The Mind Walk to raise a minimum of £150.
3.2 All funds raised must be paid to national Mind (charity number 219830) within two months of the event date, either online, by post or over the phone.
3.3 Mind cannot take responsibility for any losses made through the Mind Walk or liability arising from the Mind Walk.
3.4 You will inform Mind at the earliest possible opportunity if you need to cancel your activity/or withdraw from a Mind organized activity due to any circumstance.
3.5 Mind has the right to terminate your right to raise funds at any time.

4. Event conduct & location
4.1 All participants are responsible for their safety on the day. Mind have conducted thorough risk assessments but highly advise you keep a fully charged phone with you at all times. An emergency number will be provided on the day of the event to ring in case of emergencies.
4.2 The Mind walk is hosted in highly densely populated areas. We therefore ask you to act respectfully for the local community and residents located on the route. This includes but is not limited to, not dropping litter, not being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, not being aggressive to other participants or volunteers, and keeping noise to an acceptable level.
4.3 You are required to adhere to the rules outlined on the day by staff, volunteers and/or the police.
4.4 You must complete the route within the designated event hours. The exact end time of the event will be announced on the day. The Event Manager has the right to make changes to the route and finish times if necessary.
4.5 Mind may invite photographers and/or videographers to record the event. By taking part you are agreeing to having your picture taken or video footage by the charity and to be used for any of the below commercial and fundraising reasons:

- Marketing materials
- Merchandising
- By Mind partners to publicise their involvement
4.6 If, for any reason you are not willing to agree to use of your photo or video footage please contact and inform us via email at [email protected].
4.7 Mind will not identify any participant by name without their prior written agreement.
4.8 Mind shall not use any images of participants under the age of 16. However, there may be occasion where images of mass participants have by accident included someone under the age of 16. In such case, please contact Mind and we will strive to remove the imagery and delete it from our system.
5. Data Protection
5.1 Any personal data collected by Mind shall be done so in accordance with the applicable privacy laws and our privacy policy. 5.2 Mind will use the information provided at the point of registration to organise and manage the event. This may include communication through post, email or phone where applicable. If you wish not to hear from us through certain or all communication channels, please contact our supporter relations team via phone on 020 8215 2243 or email at [email protected].
5.3 First aid facilities will be provided at the event. In the case of an emergency, we may be required to provide your details to the provider for health and safety purposes.
5.4 By opting-in to communications via the relevant channel when registering for the event you may also hear from Mind about the charity’s work. You can change your preferences at any time by contacting our supporter relations team on the details stated in data protection point 2.
