About the Mind Walk

The Mind Walk is a 10k fundraising walk through London. This is a moment to make moves for mental health – and everyone’s invited. Bring your friends and family into London, raise money and make moves for mental health. You’ll be stepping into a movement that’s determined to build a better future for mental health.

Join us at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London to get ready and meet others taking part before the walk. We’ll get you in the mood to make moves for mental health on the day. You’ll be raring to go at the start line with incredible guest speakers, good music and great vibes.

After the walk, we’ll finish up at our event village where you can take a photo, grab a snack and get to know your fellow walkers even more.

How your fundraising makes a difference

This is how you and brilliant walkers like you are going to change lives.

£10 could pay for 100 of our information booklets. Access to the right information is vital. Our booklets provide info on all kinds of mental health topics, and give people trusted information when they need it.

£32 could keep Side by Side open for 1 hour. Side by Side is Mind’s moderated online community where anyone can join, talk and find support. 24/7. It’s a safe place to connect with others who understand what you’re going through.

£60 could keep the Infoline open for a whole day. The Infoline is a crucial service that helps people find out more about mental health problems and treatment options. This could be life changing for someone reaching out for help for the first time.

How to support local services

Did you know that there's a difference between National Mind and local Minds? Local Minds self-fund their frontline services for local people, and don't receive their core income from National Mind.

The Mind Walk will pass by West Central London Mind and South East London Mind. They rely on direct donations to support their local services. Find out more about the work they do and how to fundraise for them.

West Central London Mind – runs over 25 mental health services across Brent, Kensington & Chelsea, Wandsworth and Westminster.

South East London Mind – runs over 30 mental health and dementia services across Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.

Mind Walk

We asked Niamh, who took part in 2022, about her experience at the Mind Walk last time.

"I walked with my husband and son, there was a positive atmosphere as we met with the other walkers, some sharing stories, others reflecting quietly... Even though you were with complete strangers it was as if you’d known them for a long time and the atmosphere was really comfortable. A shared goal was ahead."

How we'll support you

We'll be there to cheer you on every step of the way. We offer all our walkers a fantastic support package, including:

  • Your free Mind Walk welcome pack in the post. We'll send these out a few weeks before the event date.
  • A bespoke training plan and fundraising advice.
  • A free Mind t-shirt when you get your first donation. Wear it with pride on the day!
  • An exciting event village on the day with guest speakers, music and all-round great vibes.
  • A dedicated and experienced event team who will offer information and support in the run-up to your event.
