Mid and North East Essex Mind – mental health support worker

Mid and North Essex Mind are looking for a mental health support worker to support people in crisis and prevent admission. 

What you'll do

In this role, you'll:

• Provide one to one and group based emotional support to people experiencing mental health distress 
• Use active listening, de-escalation and distraction techniques to help prevent hospital admission 
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and local partner organisations to support service users goals 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting people during mental health crisis or periods of acute distress 
• Is empathetic and resilient, with a calm and supportive approach 
• Can work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with other services
