for better mental health

Peer support directory

Describes peer support services and lists places to access them by area. Mind cannot guarantee the quality of the peer support offered by the groups listed on the directory and always suggests that you contact each local group directly to find out more. It is also possible that a group is no longer running or the groups contact details are not working. Please let us know by emailing [email protected].

About this directory

Mind's Peer Support Directory was created in 2013 using data gathered from a Mind study to scope mental health peer support across England: Piecing together the jigsaw.

The directory currently lists over 300 groups who identify as 'offering peer support in the community' across England and Wales. Since 2013, peer support groups and organisations offering peer support can apply to be added to the Mind Peer Support Directory by contacting [email protected]

Mind cannot guarantee the quality of the peer support offered by the groups listed on the directory and always suggests that you contact each local group directly to find out more. It is also possible that a group is no longer running or the groups contact details are not working. Please let us know by emailing [email protected].

For 2019-20 Mind hopes to encourage more peer support groups to join the directory as a resource for users, family, friends, professionals and anyone else to find peer support in their local area.

Mind is working together with an independent peer-led Focus Group to develop the usability of the directory and increase awareness of the directory. We want to invite new peer support groups, including in Wales, to join the directory, particularly from community led peer support and marginalised communities.

Find Peer Support

Sue blogs about finding a place to fit in at her local peer support group.

"I know that I fit in there. I don't have to try and be something I'm not, I can just be me."
