York Mind – peer support worker
York Mind are looking for a peer support worker to support people's mental health across community hubs.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Provide one to one peer support to people experiencing mental health problems across community hubs and local settings.
- Use your lived experience, alongside clear boundaries, to offer listening, encouragement and practical support.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to help reduce loneliness, build confidence and improve wellbeing.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has lived experience of mental health challenges and can reflect on how this supports others safely.
- Has experience providing one to one support and strong active listening skill.
- Understands safeguarding, professional boundaries and the importance of inclusive, values led practice.
