Mind in Haringey – BAME community advocacy project worker

Haringey Mind are looking for a BAME community advocate to support people with Severe mental problems to access physical health care. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Work alongside GP and community partners to support people from BAME communities living with severe mental health problems. 
  • Encourage and support uptake of physical health checks through advocacy, trust building and joined up care.
  • Help people understand their rights, choices and care options, supporting self advocacy wherever possible. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with people from BAME communities and those with severe and enduring mental health needs. 
  • Brings advocacy experience or qualification, with a strong commitment to informed choice and empowerment. 
  • Communicates clearly and sensitively, with the ability to build strong relationships across services.
