Mind in Gwent, Newport – reception and administration worker

Administrative and first-contact support role helping deliver compassionate mental health services at Mind in Gwent.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Act as a compassionate first point of contact for people seeking mental health and wellbeing support, helping them identify their needs and access appropriate guidance or services.
  • Provide a wide range of administrative, reception and organisational support — including managing calls and visitors, handling DBS checks, maintaining databases, supporting counselling service admin, and coordinating office systems.
  • Support the smooth running of Mind in Gwent by assisting with finance tasks, liaising with external organisations, helping coordinate events and training, and overseeing volunteer tasks where required.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience providing administrative, reception or service-support duties and can manage varied tasks with accuracy and organisation.
  • Communicates clearly and compassionately, works well with colleagues, volunteers and external partners, and maintains confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Is proactive, flexible and aligned with Mind in Gwent’s values, contributing positively to teamwork, inclusion, sustainability and continuous improvement.
