Mid and North East Essex Mind – mental health support worker

Join the North East Essex Sanctuary as a mental health support worker, providing compassionate crisis support, working flexibly across shifts, and helping people feel supported, safe and never alone.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Offer one-to-one and group mental health support using active listening and de-escalation techniques.
• Work in partnership with internal teams and local services to help people reach their wellbeing goals.
• Support individuals in crisis to reduce distress and prevent unnecessary emergency department admissions.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting people in mental health crisis or acute emotional distress.
• Has relevant training or is keen to build a long-term career in the mental health sector.
• Is empathetic, resilient and confident working with people during challenging moments.
