Peer support groups for mental health

Support groups are where people with similar experiences can connect and support each other.

This might be in person, or online. But usually, no one is more of an expert on mental health than anyone else. You help each other by sharing or listening to the rest of the group.

We sometimes call this peer support.

It's not always about getting or giving advice. It's also about having a safe space to get things off our chest and occasionally sharing a laugh about it all!

How to find a support group

You can find support groups online and in person. There's no directory that lists every group in the UK – but we have tips on where to start looking.
