What is Mental Elf?
Mental Elf is a festive fun run for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned runner or prefer a stroll in the park. You can walk, jog, skip or run the distance. You can even bring your little ones or four-legged friends – the focus is on having plenty of fun, while raising vital funds for Mind’s work in your local area. Fancy dress is positively encouraged!
A concept that was started by our friends at Lancashire Mind over a decade ago, we’re delighted that this year there are Mental Elf events taking place in over 40 communities across England and Wales this November and December.
As the festive season approaches, Mental Elf not only promotes the benefits of physical activity, but it connects people and will give you that warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that you’re helping us to raise vital funds for your local mental health charity.
How to take part
There's a 5k distance available at all locations listed below, and additional routes (both shorter and longer) available at some locations. It’s time to buy your ticket, round up your friends and family, order those elf ears and let the festive countdown begin!

Where does the money go?
All money that is raised locally through Mental Elf events, stays locally – whether that’s money generated through ticket sales, corporate sponsorship or fundraising.
Each local Mind taking part in Mental Elf provides a range of mental health services tailored to the needs of the community in which they operate – you can find out more about local Minds here.
Mind and participating local Minds work together to plan and coordinate the events annually.
