We are here to support you, however you decide to fundraise for Mind. So if you’re planning your own fundraising activity, we’d love to hear from you. We have come up with lots of ways you can get involved so be sure to take a look at our suggestions below which will help you get the ball rolling.
Make sure you register your event with us once you’ve got your fundraising activity lined up and ready to go. By doing this, you’ll receive bespoke support from a member of Mind’s Community & Events Team and they will be able to provide the right kind of resources for your fundraising. Click on the link ‘Register your event’ below.
We’re not suggesting you walk the 300 miles from Carlisle United to Colchester United, but if your local EFL Football Club is close enough to embark on a sponsored walk (or just a regular walk!), then why not raise money for Mind by racking up those miles to London Road or Bloomfield Road. If you’re able to meet with a friend (in line with COVID-19 guidance) you could swap your football boots for your walking boots and take on the challenge together.
Why not put on a virtual match day get together for friends and family. You can also use our Commentator Bingo resource to get friends to ‘Pay to Play’. See who gets a full house first and then you can donate the takings to Mind.
Or perhaps you could hold a sweepstake for the scorers from your chosen game? How many corners will be had or who is most likely to be sent off during the first 45 minutes? Take a small (or large!) donation for each prediction with the money going to Mind. Whether your team wins, loses or draws, your donations will help us be there for everyone who needs us.
If you’re usually a match-going fan and have found that you’ve been saving cash by not buying your pre-match programme and pie, you could make a match day donation to Mind. We’ll send you a card collection box to collect your match day donations, and whatever your match day routine is, your donations will make a difference for our vital mental health services. Make your match day donations to Mind part of your new ritual. We know how superstitious you football fans are!
It might not be possible at the moment to get together for your own 5-a-side tournament, but you can still plan for the greatest match ever when we’re back to normality. If restrictions in your area do allow you to play football then why not arrange a fun 5 a-side football tournament? You can donate each team's entrance fee to us here. We’ve even created your very own team-sheet to help you for the big game
Quizzing with friends and family is a great way to get together online. It also can be an opportunity to remind your friends just how knowledgeable you are when it comes to all things football. You can be Quiz Master, invite your teammates, friends and family and can ask them to donate to Mind as part of the quiz fee! Not sure where to start with the questions? Fear not, we've got that covered to. Click here for 11 footy related questions to get your quiz going
If you have your own football related idea for your fundraising event, we would still like to support you in any way we can. Let us know by registering your event or if it's easier you can email us at [email protected]
Whatever fundraising you are doing, if it's football related, we want to know. Tell us about your fundraising, why you're doing it and we'll be here to offer you support and resources. If you raise £100 not only will we send you a Mind & EFL pin badge, but you'll also be in with a chance to win a code for Football Manager 2021...Back of the net!
The first two years of the Mind and EFL partnership have seen some great results that demonstrate the positive impact of the partnership. Take a look at this video to see our ‘Mind 11’ highlights.
