Tameside, Oldham, Glossop and Stockport Mind – community mental health crisis peer support
TOGS Mind seek a peer support worker to support adults experiencing mental health crisis and distress.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Give peer support to adults experiencing mental health crisis, using your lived experience to build trust, hope and connection.
- Support people to explore their self-defined crisis, identify strengths and coping strategies, and develop personalised support plans.
- Work alongside crisis navigators and partners organisations to help people access the right support and move forward in their recovery.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has lived experience of mental health challenges and can use this safely and appropriately to support others.
- Has experience building positive, trusting relationships and providing support to people in challenging circumstances.
- Understands recovery focused, person centred and trauma- informed approaches, alongside safeguarding and professional boundaries.
