Mind in Brighton and Hove seek an independent mental health advocate to support people's rights. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Help people understand and exercise their rights under the mental health act, ensuring their views are heard and considered in decisions about their care and treatment. 
  • Work directly with people receiving inpatient mental health care, giving advocacy support, information and representation at key meetings and reviews.
  • Build relationships with health and care professionals while maintaining your independence and promoting self advocacy, recovery and choice. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting people with mental heath needs and managing caseload in a person centred way. 
  • Can build effective relationships with a range of professional boundaries.
  • Brings excellent communication skills, an understanding of mental health services and a commitment to protecting people's rights.
