Mid and North East Essex Mind – mental health support worker 

Mid and North East Essex Mind seek a sanctuary support worker to support people in mental health crisis.

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Give emotional support to people experiencing mental health crisis, helping them feel safe, heard and understood. 
• Use active listening, de escalation and distraction techniques to help people manage distress and build coping strategies.
• Help people access the right support, connecting them with services, information and community resources that meet their needs. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting people in emotional distress mental health crisis or demanding environments. 
• Brings excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure.
• Is committed to delivering inclusive, person centred support and working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations.
