Mid and North East Essex Mind – mental health evening support worker - Chelmsford
Mid and North East Essex Mind seek a mental health support worker to support people in mental health crisis.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Give emotional and practical support to people experiencing mental health crisis, helping them feel safe, heard and supported during difficult times.
- Use active listening, de-escalation and wellbeing techniques to help people manage distress, build coping strategies and improve their wellbeing.
- Help people access the right support by assessing needs, making referrals and connecting individuals with services and community resources.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting people through emotionally challenging situations or mental health crises.
- Brings excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure.
- Is committed to inclusive, person centred support and can build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
