York Mind – peer support worker
York Mind are looking for a peer support worker to support people's mental health in community hubs.
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Provide one to one peer support to people experiencing mental health challenges in community hubs and local settings.
- Use your lived experience, alongside professional boundaries, to offer encouragement, practical support and a listening ear.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to help people build confidence, improve wellbeing and strengthen community connections.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has lived experience of mental health challenges and can reflect how this can support others.
- Has experience providing one to one support and strong active listening and relationship building skills.
- Understands safeguarding, professional boundaries and the importance of inclusive, person centred practice.
