West Sussex Mind – asylum seeker mental health support and outreach worker

West Sussex Mind seek a mental health intern to support asylum seekers across the Chichester district. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Give one to one group support to asylum seekers, helping them improve their mental health, wellbeing and understanding of available support. 
• Work alongside experienced colleagues and partner organisations to help people access mental health services, community resources and healthcare. 
• Develop your skills and experience through training, mentoring and supervised practice while supporting people from a range of backgrounds and cultures. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has an interest in mental health and wellbeing, with relevant experience, study or transferable skills. 
• Is passionate about supporting people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, including asylum seeks. 
• Is eager to learn develop professionally and take the first steps towards a career in mental health support.
