Solent Mind – sessional peer specialist (the lighthouse)

Solent Mind seek a peer support worker to support people experiencing mental health crisis and distress. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Give support to people experiencing or at risk of mental health crisis, helping them feel safe, heard and understood. 
• Use your lived experience to offer hope and encouragement, supporting people to develop coping strategies and manage their wellbeing. 
• Work alongside NHS mental health professionals to ensure people receive compassionate, person centred support when they need it most. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has lived experience of metal health challenges and can use this safely and appropriately to support others. 
• Can remain calm, compassionate and confident when supporting people experiencing distress or crisis. 
• Brings strong communication and listening skills, with a commitment to recovery focused per support.
