Mid and North East Essex Mind – mental health support worker (maternity cover)

Mid and North East Essex Mind seek a sanctuary support worker to help people through mental crisis. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

• Offer emotional support to people experiencing mental health crisis, helping them feel safe, heard and understood.
• Use active listening, de-escalation and wellbeing techniques to support people through challenging situations.
• Signpost and connect people to appropriate services and community resources to support their ongoing wellbeing. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting people in emotional distress, mental health crisis or other demanding environments.
• Brings excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Is committed to delivering inclusive, person centred support and working collaboratively with others.
