Bradford District and Craven Mind – community wellbeing worker (hospital buddies)

Bradford District and Craven Mind seek a wellbeing worker to support young people in hospital settings. 

What you'll do

In this role you'll:

  • Give one to one support to children and young people in hospital, helping them manage challenges affecting their emotional, social and mental wellbeing. 
  • Use wellbeing activities, coping strategies and de-escalation techniques to help young people build resilience and feel supported during their stay.
  • Work alongside hospital staff and partner services to help young people access the right support during and after discharge. 

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children and young people in a health, social care, youth work or similar setting. 
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships and provide compassionate, non judgemental support. 
  • Is confident to safeguarding concerns and supporting young people with a range of needs.
