What we do
Information and advice
We empower people with life-changing information – helping them understand mental health, make informed choices, and feel less alone in their journey.
Helplines
From information and service finding, to understanding mental health law, we have four helplines that are here when you need someone to talk to. Get support, advice and information over the phone or via email.
Support through Local Minds
Local Minds run mental health services in local communities. Each local Mind is different, but services we offer might include talking therapy, crisis helplines, advocacy and befriending services.
Online peer support
Side by Side is our online community where you can talk about your mental health and connect with others. Find people who get what you're going through.
Campaigning for better services
We're calling on the government to make sure everyone is able to access quality mental health care when they need it. Not after a long wait, and not only if they can afford it.
Working with the media
We work with the media to help people see mental health problems portrayed sensitively – to raise awareness, challenge stigma and encourage people to seek support.
How Mind helps people
Gavin
"I don't think I would be here today if it wasn't for the support that I got from Mind. I couldn't have carried on like that. There's no way that how I was trying to manage was sustainable."
India
"Without Mind, my mental health would have got worse and worse. Mind and having my son saved me. If those two parts of my life weren't there, I wouldn't be here today."
Sunny
"I called up the Mind support line quite a few times and the people on there were really lovely. It was just someone to talk to, and they'd be a signpost for different services. They made me feel empowered and safe, and that there was a way forward. That really meant a lot to me."
Francesca
"When you look at the Mental Health Act online, it's massive ... But on the Mind website there are bite-sized summaries that helped me understand what the different sections meant. I'd print things off and highlight stuff and be like 'This is what I can do. This is what I can't do'"
Adam
"Before I phoned Mind I had no idea what support I was going to get but once I phoned I was absolutely reassured."
Kayleigh
"Without Swansea Mind, I wouldn't be here. I can't stress that enough. The hospital wouldn't see me, the crisis team couldn't help me... Mind has saved my life."
