Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest – senior suicide bereavement practitioner
We're seeking a senior suicide bereavement practitioner to join our Grief in Pieces: Support for Suicide Loss team. Grief in Pieces is part of the Safe Connections partnership and is a dedicated support service for anyone in North East London who has been impacted by suicide loss.
If you're a counsellor with relevant training and/or experience in bereavement and loss, and are excited at the opportunity to deliver therapeutic interventions to people affected or bereaved by suicide, we'd welcome an application from you to join the team!
What you'll do
In this role you'll:
- Support with the design and delivery of trauma-informed, individual and group-based interventions to individuals bereaved by suicide
- Manage a caseload of clients accessing postvention services
- Offer fixed term, one-to-one grief counselling
- Work closely with senior management to ensure that interventions are guided by the BACP practice guidelines and trauma informed principles
About you
We're looking for someone with:
- Counselling qualification
- Relevant training and/or experience in bereavement and loss
- Recognised registration/accreditation with UKCP/BACP/HCPC
- Knowledge of postvention services and practice
- Knowledge of the impact of being bereaved by suicide
- In-depth knowledge of the theories underpinning grief counselling
