Women’s Mental Health Peer Support Programme - Advisory Group

Advisors with relevant personal experience

About the role

Agenda, the alliance for women and girls at risk, and Mind are working together to set up this exciting new initiative with the aim of increasing the opportunities for women to support each other through mental health problems. The programme will focus on women who are facing a number of difficulties including homelessness, drug and alcohol misuse, offending and mental health problems. It will include a grants programme, learning activities, a detailed evaluation that will be shared widely and will be supported by an independent advisory group. The programme is being funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (Tampon Tax fund).

The advisory group will oversee the set-up, delivery and learning of the programme. It will help ensure that it is useful to the women who use it and that women have a say in how it works. The group will be made up of representatives from the women’s, mental health and grants sectors and four women with personal relevant experience. We are looking for women who can draw on their experience of the sort of challenges we want to address including mental health problems, homelessness, drug or alcohol problems or offending. We are keen to hear from women who have experience of receiving or providing support to other women.

We are working to achieve a diverse and representative group. We welcome all applications to ensure our work reaches people from a wide range of backgrounds, including people from disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
