ENGIE
Being chosen as one of ENGIE’s three charities has given Mind the chance to show how well we can work with other good causes and their fundraising teams.
After a very successful first year, ENGIE's corporate responsibility team increased their three-year fundraising target from £300,000 to £500,000, aiming to raise over £160,000 for Mind by the end of 2019.
ENGIE staff took on many challenges to support Mind and the other chosen charities (Macmillan and the Prince’s Trust). This included a bike ride from Edinburgh to Manchester in the first year and from London to Paris in the second year. While most fundraising helps all three charities, each year there are special events just for each cause. In 2018, around 40 ENGIE fundraisers did a skydive, raising £20,000 for Mind.
Besides raising money, ENGIE staff have also volunteered their time and skills at local Mind branches and donated hundreds of bags to our charity shops as part of a nationwide donation drive.
Tom Barrow, ENGIE Social Impact Manager, said: “We are really excited about our partnership with Mind for at least the next three years and the opportunities to help them by raising funds for the work they do. But what’s also really important for us, and a huge part of why we partnered with Mind, is the help and guidance they can give us to provide better support to our employees and to tackle the stigma attached to mental health.”
