Allianz
In 2019, Mind began a three-year partnership with global insurance company Allianz. They aim to raise £1 million to help us offer better mental health support for children and young people in the UK.
Most people don't know that 3 children in every classroom in the UK have mental health issues such as depression, eating disorders and anxiety. More than half of adult mental health problems begin by age 14, and 75% start by age 18. This partnership will help tackle these issues early and raise awareness for young people.
The partnership started with Allianz employees across the UK signing up for fundraising activities to support Mind and our Scottish partners, SAMH.
Jon Dye, CEO, Allianz UK said: ‘I’m delighted to mark the launch of our exciting new charity partnership with Mind. It’s impressive to see what our employees are doing at such an early stage to support the work that Mind do to create resilience and help people stay mentally well.
‘I’m looking forward to seeing how the partnership will bring benefits to both organisations over the next three years, through our fundraising efforts to support Mind’s activity and expanding the mental wellbeing and resilience support we currently have in place for our people at Allianz.’
Paul Farmer, former Chief Executive of Mind, said: “We’re delighted to hear about some of the fantastic ways Allianz employees intend to raise funds and awareness for Mind throughout this year. The money raised will help to fund our vital work including Mind’s Whole School Approach, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of pupils, teachers, parents and everyone involved in school life. With Allianz aiming to raise an incredible £1 million, together we can continue to be there for people who need us, when they need us the most.”
