About the role

We’re Mind, the mental health charity. We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect. We provide advice and support to empower anybody experiencing a mental health problem and we campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of Mind’s approach to supporting young people to influence and participate in our work across England and Wales. Mind are seeking to recruit a maternity cover for our Young People Influence & Participation Manager to lead on our involvement and engagement work with young people across England and Wales.

We’re committed to ensuring our children and young people team are reflective of the young people we’re working with, we’re keen to hear from people from diverse background. We particularly keen to receive applications from men, people from BAME communities, people who identify as LGBTQi+

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of leading the design and delivery of influence and participation activities in a national youth and/or mental health organisation, including the development of campaigning, media and service design roles for young people. You will have an understanding of mental health and the related policy and practice issues impacting upon young people in England and Wales. You will have a track record in building and managing positive rapport with diverse stakeholders, including with senior colleagues internally, young people with lived experience of mental health problems and external networks.

This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to become part of the change to make a difference in the lives of young people.
