West Sussex Mind - Primary Care Mental Health Worker

About the role

The successful applicant will provide recovery focused 1:1 sessions, assessments and risk assessments as a Pathfinder Primary Care Mental Health Worker (PPCMHW). The role will also involve managing a caseload, working within a team managed by WS Mind and building a rapport with the GP surgery/surgeries that they’re based in.

If appointed at the higher level, the role will include Lead Worker duties in addition to the duties of a PPCMHW or Children & Young Persons Social Prescriber, this includes taking on the supervision, support and development of some of the staff team, and supporting the manager with any future recruitment. Please see the Job Description, Person Specification and Competencies for further details.

The role of Lead Worker is a new and exciting additional role within the service. During this recruitment drive we’ll be looking for an individual or individuals, who will have the necessary skills to fulfil the needs of a grade 3 position, with the hope to also appointment someone at a grade 4 to pick up the role as Lead Worker.

As well as having experience of working with individuals with mental health needs, you will demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for recovery focused mental health work and be a strong team player. You will be able to work independently using your own initiative and be able to contribute to the development of the service.
