Volunteering to facilitate sports, physical activities, and movement sessions with Islington Mind's LGBTIQ+ project, [email protected]

About the role

[email protected] offers a programme of sports, physical activities, and movement activities to members of the LGBTIQ+ community who face multiple disadvantages, combined with complex mental health problems. Activities include, walking, gardening, yoga, drama, and running, to help improve social inclusion.

The programme is currently offered both remotely on Zoom and in-person, adhering to covid-safe guidelines.

This volunteering placement will be offered to a member of the LGBTIQ+ community who is interested in sharing their expertise in any of the above activities (or something new!), as well as gaining experience working in a mental health environment. The volunteer will work within the Outcome team, Islington Mind's LGBTIQ+ specialist service, occasionally also supporting that service in its delivery (see https://www.islingtonmind.org.uk/our-services/outcome/).

Regular supervision sessions and training will be provided.

We ask you for a commitment of one day a week (preferably Tuesdays) for at least one year, not including a probationary period of around 1 month.
