About the role

Herefordshire Mind is the largest specialist voluntary sector mental health organisation in the county with a £1 million turnover and employing 50 staff.  With 40 years’ experience of working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the people of Herefordshire – and to fight the stigma and low expectations often associated with mental health problems.

Our mission is to provide quality support, whilst raising awareness and promoting understanding about mental health issues. With this in mind, we provide empowering community based support, education and outreach, residential and housing services.

As Trustees, we work with management to determine the strategic direction of the charity, and promoting its vision, mission and values.  We are responsible for ensuring that the services that Herefordshire Mind provides are of the highest quality.  Key to discharging our duties as Trustees is keeping the voice of service users and others affected by mental health problems at the centre of the charity’s work and vision.

We are a small, well-established team and are seeking three new recruits to join us. Two of these positions are to succeed current Trustees; we’re looking for people with professional backgrounds in either Finance or Human Resources to fill these roles. We’re also looking for someone with experience in grant applications and/or fund-raising to expand our skill-set. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with lived experience of mental health problems.
