Strategic change officers for race equity and young people

About the role

We're looking for people motivated to achieve strategic change to join our team in the fight for mental health. You will work in project support, bringing your communications, stakeholder engagement and project management skills to the team who will support the implementation phase of one of three comprehensive, complex, multi-dimensional and cross-organisational plans for change.

- Fighting for the mental health of people in poverty

- Becoming an anti-racist organisation

- Supporting young people – with a focus on trauma

Mind is growing to meet the scale and complexity of mental health need in England and Wales. Our 2021 Strategy made a significant commitment to changing the way we work so that we can increase our sustainability, impact and continue to move closer to achieving our mission. We are aiming to challenge our internal practices, focusing not just on the outcomes of our work, but on ensuring that the way that we do things challenges ‘business as usual’, creating space for truly transformative practice. We have developed three blueprints for change and are recruiting to several posts to support the implementation phase of each of these.

  • Race Equity Project Officer

  • Young People Project Officer

  • Senior Engagement Officer for Race Equity

We know that age, race, cultural identity, and experiences of poverty often overlap and are interested to hear from you if you are interested in any, some, or all these areas.

These roles will form part of expanding expert teams which support the development and delivery of Mind’s strategic ambitions to support each of our strategic development priorities. This team is situated within Mind’s Organisational Change team, which is accountable for mobilising change across our work to achieve our strategic ambitions and includes the organisations Project Management Office.

This position will initially, in line with current and potentially future guidance, be based from home. Post lockdown this role will retain some flexibility but post holders will be expected to be in the office a minimum of two days thereafter (or more, depending on the arrangements of your team)
