About the role

Solent Mind is the largest third sector provider of mental health services in the Hampshire region offering a range of high quality services to improve people’s mental wellbeing and to promote choice and rights to everyone who needs our support.

As part of the national Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT), Solent Mind, in partnership with Southern Health Foundation NHS Trust, are delivering an exciting service called italk, providing Step 2 and Step 3 services respectively.  This large IAPT service works across Hampshire. 

We are a lively and hard working team looking for experienced, committed and enthusiastic people to join us in delivering a quality service.  We are now looking to recruit an Employment Adviser to the Step 2 team.

You will provide skills-based interventions, information and practical support to help people receiving IAPT services to retain their employment, exchange to a more suitable job role, or return to employment after a period of sickness absence from work whose mental health is impacting their work or work is impacting their mental health. 

The role will be based in the Step 2 IAPT team and will work with a caseload of people. In addition the role will provide employment related information as required to italk clinical staff at both Step 2 and 3.

If you have a good knowledge and sound understanding of employment issues and how this impacts on individuals with mental health problems; excellent IT skills, communication skills, both written and verbal and group facilitation skills this could be the role for you.
