We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect. We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
About Mind Cyrmu
We're Mind Cymru, the mental health charity. We're here to make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone. We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
After a challenging 18 months, which included undergoing a period of change – we have emerged with a new strategy that has campaigning at the very heart of it.
By identifying 3 new areas to work on, including: racialised communities, tied to our anti-racist commitment; working alongside young people, addressing trauma (especially in young women); and issues of people living in poverty, we are motivated as a team and as an organisation to expand and deliver beyond our long-standing work.
We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.
About the role
In this role, you will work to develop our evidence base and policy positions with the outcome of improving the lives and experiences of people with mental health problems. At a time when the Welsh Government’s ten year mental health strategy, Together for Mental Health, is drawing to a close influencing the development of the new strategy and ensuring people’s voices are at the heart of it will be central to the role.
You will be working on a range of projects, as well as contributing to the wider work of Mind Cymru and Mind through work with colleagues delivering programmes and the wider, London based Policy & Campaigns team. You will also be developing wider partnerships within the voluntary sector, NHS Wales and Welsh Government to influence change in specific policy areas.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
Experience in policy or campaigns
Stakeholder management skills and experience of working with different organisations and individuals to influence change
Knowledge of Welsh Government and Senedd structures, including how to utilise them to influence change
Ability to take decisions based on good judgement and flexibility to change direction as needed.
