Frankly, Mind has not done enough to support these groups, or tackle the overlapping challenges they face in the past. With our new strategy, all of Mind’s work – our support services, our campaigns, our partnerships and the way we work internally – will take into account these large, complex, and interconnected priorities.

About the Business Development Unit

The Business Development team at Mind is responsible for programme development and innovation. We create new, large-scale work (projects and programmes) for Mind to deliver, and we adapt existing work based on new evidence. We are responsible for innovation.

Our team is the bridge between strategy, fundraising, and delivery. We develop work for the rest of the organisation to deliver, to ensure that the whole of Mind achieves its strategic aims.

Purpose and scope of the Senior Business Development Officer role

We are looking for two Senior Officers to join the team. The purpose of these roles will be to support the scoping, design, and development of innovative new programmes of work in line with Mind’s 2021-24 strategic priorities, and take leadership roles on clearly defined elements of broader programme development and special projects.

Your work will include, but is not limited to:

  • Researching, analysing, and understanding the evidence base for new programmes of work.

  • Supporting the development of new programmes and projects, by working with the Business Development Managers and the Head of Business Development, but also leading aspects of development independently.

  • Developing budgets for new work, including when no precedent exists.

  • Sharing ideas and recommendations for the development of new work, innovations, and suggesting improvements to existing work based on new evidence.

  • Building equitable and effective partnerships with external organisations.

  • Planning or developing projects or programmes, and/or developing content for fundraising bids

  • Developing or managing budgets.

  • Professional or lived experience of one or more of Mind’s three strategic priorities

  • Using a wide range of information to synthesise, analyse, and make recommendations
