We are Mind. We’re here to fight for mental health.
We connect minds: we bring people together to make change in their communities.
We support minds: we deliver life-changing support.
We change minds: we speak out and demand better from policy makers and the public.
We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.
After a challenging year, which included undergoing a period of change, we have emerged with a new strategy that has the development of new programmes of work at its heart. Our three strategic development priorities are:
We will become a truly anti-racist organisation.
We will support young people – with a focus on trauma.
We will fight for the mental health of people in poverty.
Frankly, Mind has not done enough to support these groups, or tackle the overlapping challenges they face in the past. With our new strategy, all of Mind’s work – our support services, our campaigns, our partnerships and the way we work internally – will take into account these large, complex, and interconnected priorities.
About the Business Development Unit
The Business Development team at Mind is responsible for programme development and innovation. We create new, large-scale work (projects and programmes) for Mind to deliver, and we adapt existing work based on new evidence. We are responsible for innovation.
Our team is the bridge between strategy, fundraising, and delivery. We develop work for the rest of the organisation to deliver, to ensure that the whole of Mind achieves its strategic aims.
Purpose and scope of the Senior Business Development Officer role
We are looking for two Senior Officers to join the team. The purpose of these roles will be to support the scoping, design, and development of innovative new programmes of work in line with Mind’s 2021-24 strategic priorities, and take leadership roles on clearly defined elements of broader programme development and special projects.
Your work will include, but is not limited to:
Researching, analysing, and understanding the evidence base for new programmes of work.
Supporting the development of new programmes and projects, by working with the Business Development Managers and the Head of Business Development, but also leading aspects of development independently.
Developing budgets for new work, including when no precedent exists.
Sharing ideas and recommendations for the development of new work, innovations, and suggesting improvements to existing work based on new evidence.
Building equitable and effective partnerships with external organisations.
