This is an opportunity to work within a busy, high performing public relations team at the country’s leading mental health charity. We’re looking for a passionate, brilliant PR manager who wants to lead a dynamic team to generate amazing media coverage and improve the way we engage with our supporters and media volunteers (case studies).

The purpose of this job is to provide excellent PR support for our fundraising team including corporate partners, community events and our network of charity shops across the country. You will apply your expertise and experience to shape bespoke media plans and will work closely with key account managers in our fundraising team, alongside a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll lead on stand-alone PR stories and integrated campaigns, ensuring ideas are strategically-led and that we are getting our message out as widely as possible. One week you could be working to promote Mental Health Awareness Week, the next with a corporate partner to raise the profile of a service they have funded.

You will also be responsible for improving the way we work with our supporters to tell their story of mental health in the media. You will lead our work to improve the way we work with media volunteers, strengthening our stewardship of their journey with us while diversifying the range of voices we use.

You will be responsible for the line management of one Senior Media Officer, a Media Volunteer Officer and an Assistant Media Officer. The role is a hybrid of office and home working, requiring a minimum of two days a week at our London office. The job will involve some out-of-hours work, including providing an effective on-call service for the media.
