About the role

The ‘Changing Minds’ Children, Young People and Families Team at Newport Mind have received a grant for six months from the WCVA voluntary services emergency fund to provide person-centred mental health support to young people across primary and secondary schools in Newport particularly young people from BAME communities.
This support will be delivered in response to the increasing mental health difficulties that young people are experiencing due of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on reaching young people from BAME communities.
Newport Mind is looking for people with experience of providing mental health and wellbeing support to children, young people and families, preferably in a school setting and with BAME communities, who have the drive, commitment and enthusiasm to deliver this essential and high-demand new service.
