Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest - IRIE Mind High Intensity IAPT Therapist

About the role

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the exciting, challenging and diverse boroughs of the City of London and Hackney, the post holder will be responsible for providing a High intensity service within Mind’s IAPT service; providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy in 1:1 and group format for clients of African and Caribbean heritage. The post holder will be a qualified clinician with additional training in CBT, IPT of CfD.

The post holder will be registered with HCPC, UKCP, BACP (and working towards accredited status) and/or an accredited member of BABCP. They offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues from other disciplines and to other, non-professional carers and will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. They will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service. Working on the front line of mental health and social care, the post holder will provide a safe environment for clients to explore their issues, and demonstrate the value and outcomes of these services to bring about meaningful psycho-social change. The post requires high level of administration, ability to manage intensive caseloads and commitment to delivering good clinical outcomes.

This is an ideal post for a highly skilled High Intensity therapist motivated to support service development alongside delivery.

Accountabilities/tasks/duties - Service Delivery

  1. Provide a High-Intensity psychological service for clients in Mind’s IAPT service, including assessment, intervention, risk management and referral on to other mental health services as appropriate to need.
  2. Provide training, supervision, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to the formulation and treatment of individual patients.
  3. To manage a caseload of clients for one to one fixed-term High Intensity Therapy as well as group interventions as appropriate.
  4. To apply data protection, confidentiality, safeguarding, the organisation’s lone working policy and risk management, and all professional codes of ethics.
  5. Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients as appropriate.
