About the role

We’re looking for volun-cheerers to help support our runners with some motivational cheering and encouragement. It’ll be fabulous to have you as part of the team!

The amazing London Marathon takes place on Sunday 28 April. It is set to be a great day with a fantastic atmosphere as thousands of dedicated runners take on this run through the heart of London.

Over 800 runners are taking part on behalf of Mind. Our wonderful runners are raising funds to help us be there for everyone who’s stressed, depressed or in crisis. We want to ensure they have the best day and your cheers will help motivate them on their way. Join us and help make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

No experience necessary. We’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly people who are happy to get involved and cheer loudly for Mind!

We will provide you with cheering accessories and a Mind t-shirt on the day so all you’ll need to do is turn up ready to cheer and have a fun time!

We’re looking for people to cheer with us at one of three cheer points along the course:

  • Mile 8.5 – Surrey Quays Station (SE16 2UF) – 9am-1pm
  • Mile 13 – The Highway (E1W 3DH) – 9am-1.30pm
  • Mile 25 – Victoria Embankment (WC2N 6NS) – 11am-4pm

If you are only available for a couple of hours during these time slots, we’d still love to have you help us cheer on our amazing runners. We look forward to you joining us at this fantastic event!

What are they looking for?

Enthusiastic, friendly people with a willingness to cheer.

Practical Considerations

We’ll send through full details with a map and contact on the day.  Bear in mind transport is likely to be busier than normal as it’s an event day. There will be road closures for the route.  If you have a friends or family who would also like to join, then we’d love to welcome them to the group too.

How to apply?

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email your details to [email protected] and we will send you more information.
