About the role

We’re looking for volun-cheerers to help support our runners with some motivational cheering encouragement. It’ll be fabulous to have you as part of the team!

The first ever London Landmarks Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 25 March. It is set to be a great day with a fantastic atmosphere as thousands of runners take on this fabulous new run on the closed roads of London.

Join us for our Olympic-themed cheerpoint and help us give our runners cheers worthy of champions.

Our Mind runners are raising funds to help us be there for everyone who’s stressed, depressed or in crisis. We want to ensure they have the best day and your cheers will help motivate them on their way. Join us and help make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

No experience necessary. We’re looking for enthusiastic, friendly people who are happy to get involved and cheer loudly for Mind!

Fancy dress is encouraged so if you want to dress up as your favourite Olympic star, don your team’s kit or get out your 2012 Gamesmaker outfit, then bring it on! It’s not required though, we’ll have t-shirts and cheering accessories there on the day so all you’ll need to do is turn up ready to cheer and have a fun time!

We will be based on Victoria Embankment, just along from Temple station. We’re looking for people to cheer with us between approx. 9.30am and 1.30pm (or for a couple of hours between these times).

What we are looking for

Enthusiastic, friendly people with a willingness to cheer.

Practical considerations

We’ll send through full details with a map and contact on the day.

We’ll be stationed a short walk from Temple tube station (District line).

Bear in mind transport is likely to be busier than normal as it’s an event day. There will be road closures for the route.

If you have a friends or family who would also like to join, then we’d love to welcome them to the group too.

How to get involved

Please sign up by sending an email with your details to volunteering@mind.org.uk
