About the roles

Islington Mind is a an established mental health charity with 37 years’ experience of providing community services to people who have mental health problems or people who are recovering from mental health problems.

We are now looking to recruit a team of enthusiastic, committed and creative Team Leaders and support workers to join our mental Health Recovery Pathway’s dynamic and vibrant staff team.

The Mental Health Recovery Pathway (MHRP) is a mental health provision based across three sites in Islington, responding to the mental health needs of Islington residents; it offers two pathways – The Integrated Community Support (ICS), providing day service opportunities for people with Low and Medium Preventative Care Needs and The Structured Integrated Support (SIS) for people with Higher and more complex needs. 

Team Leaders posts:

1          Volunteer Mentor Team Leader

Job purpose: to develop systems, facilitate and oversee the recruitment, training, support and development programmes and performance monitoring of the Mental Health Recovery Pathway’s mentors and volunteers, offering them a regular point of contact. Other ICS managerial responsibilities include managing mental health drop-in provisions, including risk and safeguarding management.

 

2          Service User Zone Team Leader

Job purpose: To oversee and support service user and carer governance, complaints, feedback and peer-led activities, acting as a point of contact for service users.  To develop, establish and maintain systems that ensure that all the Mental Health Recovery Pathway’s provisions are co-produced and follow users’ needs and wishes.  Other ICS managerial responsibilities include managing mental health drop-in provisions, including risk and safeguarding management.

 

3          Recovery Team Leader

Job purpose: To coordinate and oversee the administration of the Mental Health Recovery Pathway counselling / psychotherapy service, to develop mental health awareness and recovery workshops and to deliver them to service users and to offer support and development programmes for Lead Mentors.

 Other ICS managerial responsibilities include managing mental health drop-in provisions, including risk and safeguarding management.

 

4          Community Outreach Team Leader

Job purpose: To develop, establish and maintain working relationships with local partner organisations, ensuring Islington Mind utilises community strength and assets and feeds into the locality model of integrated health care.  Other ICS managerial responsibilities include managing mental health drop-in provisions, including risk and safeguarding management.

 

6          Psycho Social Support Team Leader

Job purpose: To coordinate a Psycho Social key work Support (PSS) programme that enables people with a severe and enduring mental health diagnosis and complex mental health needs to progress and maintain independent living in a community of their choice.

 

7          Reablement Team leader

Job purpose: To coordinate a short term intensive support programme for people with complex mental health problems to enable and/or improve transitions such as hospital discharge or managing or preventing a crisis.

A 1-day a week post

 

Part-time support workers:

 

Women Only Space Support Worker

A 1-day a week post;

You will be part of a collaborative and dynamic Women-Only team that is eager to significantly impact on the wellbeing and the recovery process of women who experience mental distress.

You will help with facilitating the running of a 1-day a week vibrant Women-Only Space, support and ensure the safety of its therapeutic drop-in, support service users in one to one and group settings, help with the cooking of a daily lunch, convene and facilitate users’ meetings, help with the monitoring and evaluation of the service and with co-production of new activities, projects and events.

 

Chance For Young Team leader

A 1-day a week post

Job purpose: To facilitate a mental health support provision for young adults facing multiple disadvantages combined with ongoing complex mental health problems and financial difficulties, including a structured provision for young adults aged 18-21 years old and a peer support group for young adults aged 21-30

 

Administrator post

Job purpose: To help develop and to facilitate the Mental Health Recovery Pathway’s administrative systems enabling the smooth running of the Pathway, including centralising all monitoring data and records collated and logged on our online CRM system, to maintain and update the Pathway’s KPIs spreadsheets, to help prepare reports and to act as the point of contact for the pathway, responding to telephone enquiries and managing messages appropriately

Administrator post requires evidenced substantial experience in an office setting, including experience of developing (and maintaining) new administrative systems, of using monitoring and evaluation tools and producing evaluation reports, of collating and logging data, utilising an on-line CRM system and of organising training events

Salary: £25,833 (scale 5 point 22 NJC)

 

Team Leaders’ roles require substantial evidenced experience in co-producing, managing and coordinating support provisions within a mental health environment, including risk and safeguarding management.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week

Annual Leave: 26 working days per year, (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays. Salary: £31,434 pa

Pension: Islington Mind operates the auto-enrolment pension scheme and currently employer contribution is 3% and employees contribution is 5% Location: The post holder will provide a service from a number of Islington Mind sites in the borough

 

Support Worker roles require substantial experience of working with people with complex mental health needs in one to one and group settings

Hours of work: 10.00am – 5.00pm, 7 hours per week

Annual Leave: 26 working days per year, pro rata plus Bank Holidays.

Salary: £5,750.40 pa (scale 6 point 18 of the National Joint Council for Local Government pay scales)

Pension: Islington Mind operates the auto-enrolment pension scheme and currently employer contribution is 3% and employee’s contribution is 5%

Location: The post holder will provide a service from 35 Ashley Road, London N19 3AG and from other Islington Mind sites in the borough and external locations.

 

Administrator role requires substantial administrative experience in an office setting, including experience of developing (and maintaining) new administrative systems, of using monitoring and evaluation tools and producing evaluation reports, of collating and logging data, utilising an on-line CRM system and of organising training events

Hours of work: 35 hours per week
